Three U.S. Navy Ships Approached by Iranian Boats

نزدیک شدن پنج قایق نظامی ایران به سه ناو امریکایی:

   USS Port Royal-CG 73/USS Hopper-DDG 70/USS Ingraham-FFG 61

 و قرار گرفتن ناو ها در حالت اماده باش جهت منهدم ساختن قایق ها

پنتاگون:قايق های موتوری ایران دست به رفتارهای تحريک کننده می زدند، به طرف کشتی های آمريکايی رفته و در لحظه آخر مانور می دادند و جعبه هايی را در کنار ناو های آمريکايی می انداختند. مقامات گفتند بر اثر اين اعمال تحريک کننده،  کشتی های آمريکايی برای شليک به سمت قايق های ايرانی آماده شده بودند.به گفته مقامات آمريکايی، نيروهای ایران با استفاده از امواج باز راديويی به کشتی های آمريکايی اخطار می دادند که تا دقايقی ديگر منفجرشان خواهند کرد
